Immigration Disappears From TV News After Harris Named Immigration Lead

|

After being named the administration's immigration lead on March 24th, Vice President Harris all but disappeared from CNN and MSNBC within days, while Fox News increased its coverage of her. What about immigration itself? The timeline below shows total mentions of immigration since the start of this year, showing it began surging on Fox News from March 1 and began picking up on CNN and MSNBC around mid-March. Within days of Harris being named immigration lead, mentions across all three channels sharply faded, with CNN and MSNBC reducing their mentions of immigration to just a few mentions a day, while even Fox News reduced its coverage to less than a quarter of its previous levels.
