In a video posted on YouTube Thursday afternoon, former Colorado Gov. John Hickenlooper announced that he will not continue his run for the Democratic presidential nomination. Despite speculation that he would, he did not announce that he would run for Senate in Colorado instead.
"I’ve heard from so many Coloradans who want me to run for the United States Senate. They remind me how much is at stake for our country. And our state. I intend to give that some serious thought," he said.
"This morning, I’m announcing that I’m no longer running for President. While this campaign didn’t have the outcome we were hoping for, every moment has been worthwhile & I’m thankful to our entire team. While I don’t yet know what’s next for me, I’ll be sure to let you know," he wrote in a statement released by his campaign.
