Rush Limbaugh points out that Al Franken has promised to resign "in the coming weeks," not that he is planning to immediately leave the Senate.
"He has not resigned, he has stated his intention to resign in the coming weeks," Limbaugh explained. "This means Franken will still be able to vote on legislation, say, the government shutdown, the tax bill if it ever gets out of conference committee."
"The Roy Moore election in Alabama is five days from now, so depending on how that goes, and how people react to that, Al Franken could easily change his mind," Rush added.
"It's a longshot here, I understand, but he's leaving the door open is all I'm saying."
