Auto Bill Stopped in the Senate

Today in the Senate, Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) announced that a compromise was being worked on to put together a financial aid package for America's auto manufacturers.

However, late tonight the Senate voted and was unable to pass a cloture vote on the package. Reid said that he hoped that TARP money would be used to help the automakers until the new Congress could pass help in 2009.
