PHIL WEGMANN: The El Paso Times has walked back their claim that border agents were using whips to deter Haitian migrants. It is kind of a controversy with people about what is a whip, what are reins? The El Paso Times put out a clarification that it was not an actual whip? Does that change anything for the administration in light of statements that were made last week?
JEN PSAKI: I don't think anyone could look at those photos and think that was an appropriate action.
The White House condemned the use of a whip-like cord against Haitian migrants near a riverside camp in Texas. Reuters witnesses saw a U.S. border guard on horseback unfurling a cord resembling a lariat, which he swung near a migrant's face https://t.co/pma6y9RJVq pic.twitter.com/KMSGGJPEx2— Reuters (@Reuters) September 21, 2021
