"We don't need the fun police to micromanage us and tell us what we should or shouldn't be doing,' she said in her defense at a press conference on Saturday.
She said everyone in the club was "feeling the spirit" and "not thinking about a mask."
"The fact that this is even a story is sad," she said. "We in San Francisco have done an incredible job around Covid, but this is now a distraction."
