Romney Booed at UT GOP: Trashes Trump, Asks Crowd "Aren't You Embarrassed?"

|

Mitt Romney was booed by the crowd at the Utah Republican Convention on Saturday where the Senator faced a resolution to censure him for his vote to impeach and convict former President Donald Trump. FOX 13 Utah reports Romney left the convention center immediately after the speech.

"So what do you think about President Biden's first 100 days?" Romney asked the crowd that was continuously booing him.

"Now you know me as a person who says what he thinks and I don't hide the fact that I wasn't a fan of our last president's character issues," Romney said to even more booing.

"And I am also no fan," Romney began to say before the booing became overwhelming.

"Aren't you embarrassed?" Romney said with a smirk after a 10-second silence.

At some point, outgoing Utah GOP chairman Derek Brown came on stage to ask the audience to "show respect."

"So, yeah, I understand I have a few folks that don't like me terribly much and I am sorry about that," Romney continued. "I express my mind as I believe what is right and I follow my conscience as I believe is right."

"I am not a fan of the current president's policies," he added.
