Speaker Pelosi: Trump "Committed An Act Of Incitement Of Insurrection. I Don't Think It's Very Unifying To Say, Let's Just Forget It"

Speaker Pelosi said at her Thursday press conference that she will not simply give up on investigating and prosecuting last week's Capitol riot, saying Trump "committed an act of incitement of insurrection."

"I don't think it's very unifying to say, 'oh let's just forget it.'"

"You don't say ... 'you're going to get a get out of jail card free' because people think we should make nice-nice and forget people died," she said.


"There is no question that there were members in this body who gave aid and comfort to those, with the idea that they were embracing a lie, a lie perpetrated by the president."

"There will be prosecutions if they aided and abetted an insurrection," Pelosi said when asked if members of Congress might have been involved.
