Trump: If Schools Stay Closed, Money Should Follow Students; Democrats Want Money To Follow The Union

|

During a roundtable discussion on the need to re-open in-person schools in the fall, President Trump said that parents who want to pursue alternative education options as the pandemic continues should get money back to pay for private schools.

"I would like the money to follow the student. If a school is going to be closed and we're giving all of this money to a school, and if a student is going to go to a different school... I think the money should follow the student," President Trump said. "We're having a hard time with the Democrats, they want the money to follow the union, to be honest."

"This way you can make your own choice."
