Democratic strategist James Carville said there is a "significant chance" that President Donald Trump drops out of the race. In an interview on MSNBC's "Morning Joe" on Thursday, Carville said the "Moscow Mitch" strategy to save the Senate will involve throwing Trump under the bus.
JAMES CARVILLE: I think there is a significant chance he doesn't run. I mean, this thing is going so poorly. He's so far back. To me, it doesn't make much sense for him to run.
This is the great 'Moscow Mitch' strategy. After Labor Day, we're going to turn on him.' That’s really going to work. I mean, McSally and Ernst and Sullivan and Lindsey [Graham], they've been licking his boots for three years and nine months. But boy, come Labor Day, we're going to get some separation. The chances of that working are zero.
