New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy told NBC's "Meet the Press" on Sunday that the New York/New Jersey/Pennsylvania area has "been crushed" by the coronavirus pandemic and warned that it would be a long time before the state could begin to reopen its economy.
"The mandate to stay at home and stay away from each other is still in effect," he said. "We're not out of the woods yet. I think we're several weeks away... The mandate to stay at home and stay away from each other is still very much in effect until we can break the back of this curve... recognizing you've got density issues in the north that you just don't have in the south."
