Michael Osterholm, self-described "medical detective" and director of the Center for Infectious Disease Research and Policy (CIDRAP) at the University of Minnesota, joined "The Joe Rogan Experience" this week to talk about the developing coronavirus outbreak.
"It’s just beginning," Osterholm warned. "In terms of the hurt, pain, suffering, death that has happened so far is really just the beginning. This is going to unfold for months to come. We’re gonna be in some hurt for the next few months."
Osterholm said he has a friend of a friend who is a doctor in Italy, where hospitals are being forced to turn away patients with pre-existing comorbidities to make room for people with a chance to recover such that they are now essentially "deciding who they are going to let die."
