McCarthy: Pelosi Withheld Impeachment Articles To Help Biden's 2020 Campaign Keep Sanders "At Bay"

|

House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy suggested at Tuesday's GOP press conference that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi waited more than three weeks to officially transmit the articles of impeachment to the Senate to benefit "anybody who is running for president who is not currently in the Senate."

McCarthy argued Pelosi is intentionally "clearing the decks for Joe Biden" and "keeping Bernie Sanders at bay," calling the strategy her "dirty little secret."

Sanders "actually had a chance to win [the Democratic presidential nomination] but not now that Nancy Pelosi has held these documents," he explained.

"With Iowa quickly upon us in early February, those four senators who are running for president will now no longer have a voice... The only rightful thing of Joe Biden is to make a pledge not to campaign while Bernie Sanders cannot," McCarthy said.
