MSNBC's "Morning Joe" Scarborough responded Thursday to comments that the president's personal attorney Rudy Giuliani made to reporters at the president's New Year's Eve party at Mar-A-Lago.
Giuliani said if he were called to appear at the Senate impeachment trial, he would like to do far more than testify. He claims he has uncovered evidence of "vast" corruption in Ukraine involving the Democratic Party "not just in 2016, but for many years."
"I’d give lectures, I’d give summations. Or, I’d do what I do best, I’d try the case. I’d love to try the case," Giuliani said about the trial. "If you give me the case, I will prosecute it as a racketeering case, which I kind of invented, anyway."
"I'm so confused," Scarborough said about Giuliani's comments. "Is he saying he’s going to prosecute the president for racketeering? That’s fascinating. I hope Democrats were taking notes there. So anyway, that was Rudy... I don’t know what it means and neither do you, so let’s not pretend we do. It’s just entertaining to watch, I guess."
