TUCKER CARLSON, FOX NEWS: A lot has been written about the growing internal divide within the Republican Party. In a minute, for example, we’ll talk to one GOP senator who’s gravely dissatisfied with Lindsay Graham’s leadership of the Judiciary committee. But at the same time, you almost never hear anything about what’s happening within the Democratic Party. Outwardly, all Democrats seem united in their hatred for Donald Trump. But inside, Democrats may hate each other even more. How vicious and crazy has the fighting within the Democratic Party become? Let’s put is this way: Late last week, Hillary Clinton publicly accused a Democratic presidential of being a Russian agent. Watch:
HILLARY: I’m not making any predictions, but I think they’ve got their eye on somebody who’s currently in the Democratic primary and they’re grooming her to be the third-party candidate. She’s the favorite of the Russians.
Later, a spokesman confirmed it: Hillary was taking about Tulsi Gabbard. Keep in mind that Gabbard is a sitting U.S. congresswoman. She’s an Iraq War veteran. She’s currently a major in the US army reserves. And yet, Hillary says, she’s a traitor to this country. And not just Tulsi Gabbard. Jill Stein spent decades working as a physician in Boston, before embarking on a second career as a left-wing activist. Last cycle, she ran for president on a platform that includes a Green New Deal, Medicare for All, and amnesty for illegal aliens. Yet according to Hillary, Stein is a Russian agent too:
HILLARY: They have a bunch of sites and bots and other ways of supporting her so far and that’s assuming Jill Stein will give it up, which she may not, because she’s also a Russian asset. Yeah, she’s a Russian asset. I mean totally.
Stein is “also a Russian asset.” She and Tulsi Gabbard. They’re Russian assets. Some on the left are now denying that Hillary said that. She certainly did. The tape is online. Listen for yourself. And then she kept going. The president of the United States, Hillary explained, is being blackmailed by Vladimir Putin himself:
HILLARY CLINTON: Donald Trump is Vladimir Putin’s dream... I don’t know what Putin has on him, whether it’s both personal and financial. I assume it is.
In case you’re trying to keep track at home, in a single podcast, Hillary Clinton accused three separate people — one to her left, one to her right, and one within her own party — all of being Russian agents. She offered precisely no evidence for any of it. The one thing all three have in common is that, at one time or another, they’ve opposed Hillary Clinton. Which according to Hillary means that are, by definition, traitors. Now remember that Hillary Clinton is supposed to be a very impressive person. Her fellow liberals have claimed that since she graduated from Wellesley College more than 50 years ago, and went on to Yale Law School. She’s one of the best and the brightest. She’s the adult in the room. That’s what they claim. And yet now we learn they were lying all along. Hillary Clinton isn’t impressive. She’s silly and reckless. She’s not even very smart. Like all dumb people, she’s got a weakness for bizarre conspiracies. That’s the real Hillary Clinton. And yet, amazingly, her fellow liberals are still defending her:
Sunny Hostin, ABC host: Hillary’s been dead on about so many things. She told us about Russia, she told us about the probable interference during the debates, she was secretary of state, she has deep knowledge about world issues. I thought, “Where’s the lie?” ....
Sunny Hostin, ABC host: You have her being touted by people like Fox News personalities like Tucker Carlson.
Kimberly Atkins, WBUR correspondent: She never denied being a Russian asset. That was the one aspect that was missing from her response, you’d think that would be in the first line or two, it was not there.
Jonathan Capehart, MSNBC host: To your point Hillary Clinton didn’t name names but there’s congresswoman Gabbard going ‘ME! ME! ME!
Adrienne Alrod, Dem strategist: The Russia propaganda machine has been propelling her, lifting her up since she announced her candidacy.
You hear that? She never denied being a Russian asset. She must be guilty. Julian Castro, who as of tonight is an actual president candidate, agreed:
REPORTER: Do you agree with Clinton that she could very well be a Russian asset?
CASTRO: I'm gonna focus on my campaign and what we’re doing.
REPORTER: Just to confirm you did not say no about her being a Russian asset?
CASTRO: I have no comment .
REPORTER: At the very least do you think it was appropriate for Hillary to insert herself this way?
CASTRO: I have a lot of respect for Hillary Clinton and I’ll leave it at that.
But we’re not going to lie to you. It’s not just Democrats who’ve gone off the deep end. Remember Evan McMullin, whom Bill Kristol convinced to run for president in 2016? McMullin was supposed to be a “serious, principled conservative.” Yet he agrees with Hillary. Quote: “I believe it’s true. Tulsi Gabbard is with the Russians and the Russians are with Tulsi Gabbard. She confirms it every time she opens her mouth.” End quote. Again, no evidence. When President Trump weighed in to say that, no, he didn’t think that two of his political opponents are spies, neocon buffoon David Frum declared that the denial proved conspiracy. Quote: “Trump last night defended Jill Stein and Tulsi Gabbard against charges of Russian influence. He wasn't supposed to do that, he was supposed to pretend they were not all on the same team.” So it’s all a setup. Was that Tulsi Gabbard at the Soviet embassy in Mexico City? This is lunacy. But it’s not accidental. Last Friday, we had Congresswoman Gabbard on this show, and she explained why it’s happening:
CARLSON: I've never heard anybody at Hillary Clinton's level, say something like that.
GABBARD: And the reason why she is doing this is because ultimately, she knows that she can't control me... And that if I'm elected President, if I am the Democratic nominee and elected President that she won't be able to control me, she won't be able to manipulate me, she won't be able to continue to work from behind the curtain to continue these regime change wars that have been so costly.
This is about power. In Washington, everything is. For generations, a small bipartisan group has run the country into the ground. They’ve mismanaged the economy, wasted American lives in pointless wars abroad, and forced weird and irrelevant gender theory on a baffled nation while hundreds of thousands died of drug ODs, and they paid no notice at all. We’ve never had a worse set of leaders. So it’s not surprising that they don’t take criticism well. Don’t like their program? You must be a spy.
