Pelosi: Socialism "Is Not The View Of The Democratic Party"; AOC Knows We Have To "Hold The Center"

Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi said Democratic freshman in Congress such as Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez "know" they have to hold the center as a party. Pelosi also told '60 Minutes' correspondent Lesley Stahl that she rejects socialism and "it is not the view of the Democratic party."

"I do reject socialism as an economic system. If people have that view, that's their view. That is not the view of the Democratic Party," Pelosi told Lesley Stahl.

"By and large, whatever orientation they came to Congress with, they know that we have to hold the center. That we have to be down the mainstream," Pelosi said.

Pelosi also used her much repeated line that President Trump is not worth impeaching, but acknowledged the country is not built to survive two terms of Trump.

"Well, I think our future -- is strong enough -- built on a strong foundation to withstand everything including the current occupant of the White House," she said. "I don't think for two terms though."
