At his first cabinet meeting of 2019, President Trump said that in order to secure funding for the border wall he is willing to keep government partially shut down for "as long as it takes."
"I'm here, I want to do it right," Trump said.
DONALD TRUMP: A wall is a wall. The others just, we could have all the drones flying over the people last night, the only thing that stops them is a wall. If we had drones, wonderful, we'll get nice pictures...
QUESTION: How long are you going to keep government shut down?
TRUMP: As long as it takes. I mean look, I'm prepared. I think the people of this country think I am right. Again, I could have had a lot easier presidency by doing nothing, but I'm here, I want to do it right.
