Michael Moore said while he loves Sens. Kamala Harris (D-CA) and Cory Booker (D-NJ) that Democrats can't run a politician against President Trump in 2020. Moore said the party should run a beloved American like former First Lady Michelle Obama or hero pilot Chesley "Sully" Sullenberger.
Moore also admonished the Democratic party for never taking Trump seriously as a candidate and now as president.
"There is a lot of good news here, but he is a true danger," Moore said Wednesday's broadcast of 'Morning Joe' on MSNBC. "He's so much smarter than our side. Nobody has ever taken him seriously, has never understood his pow, his ability to read a room, his ability to manipulate people with fear. I mean, the man is a genius in this area. He's an evil genius, but to not respect how smart he's been in doing this."
"Love her. No, not going to happen," Moore said of Harris.
"Cory, love him. No. We cannot run a politician. We will lose," he said.
"We have to run a beloved American. Obama became beloved the night of that convention and he was beloved from that moment on," Moore said. "It's got to be like a Michelle Obama or a Sully Sullenberger."
