Candace Owens, communications director for Turning Point USA, joins 'Fox & Friends' to talk about race relations in America and the possibility of attending a White House summit with Kanye West and Donald Trump.
"For so long black conservatives have not been able to have a voice, people who have bi-racial children, people in bi-racial relationships, it has been so black and white. I blame Obama. His eight years in office did a lot of damage in terms of race relations in this country," she said. "Hillary didn' help much when she kept calling everybody racist and sexist... it is time for us to do some healing."
Owens said Republicans "gave up" on African-Americans and didn't embrace the black community.
"When I met with some of them, it was like an uphill battle, I was like this can be done, and they just felt defeated. So the time is now to talk about the policies... Why independence is better than government dependency."
