In response to a question, President Trump hails the House Intelligence Committee report released this week. On Friday, the House Intelligence Committee released a redacted version of the committee's year-long Russia investigation. Democrats have prepared a rebuttal but GOP members say they found no evidence of collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia and dispute the intelligence community's findings that Putin tried to help elect Trump.
Trump repeatedly states that the report backs his claims that there was "no collusion" between the Trump campaign and the Russian government. Trump also reiterates: "there's nobody tougher on Russia than me."
"We were honored -- great report!"
"No collusion, which I knew anyway. No coordination, no nothing, it is a witch hunt," the president said. "The report was very powerful, very strong. There was no coordination between the Trump campaign and Russian people."
"With that all being said, we can get along with Russia. That is a good thing, not a bad thing," he added.
The more than 250-page report said the Trump Tower meeting in June 2016 between members of the Trump campaign and a Russian lawyer "demonstrated poor judgment" and said then-candidate Donald Trump's praise for WikiLeaks was "inconsistent with U.S. national-security interests."
Special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation and the Senate Intelligence Committee's investigation continue.
