The former Attorney General says President Trump is undermining the rule of law and government institutions – and he "worries a great deal" about whether Jeff Sessions will stand up to him or not.
"I've said this, and I don't think it is hyperbolic, but our democracy is under attack. If you look at the question of gerrymandering, voter suppression, the way in which the norms that have normally cabined the ways governments act with people, the way people within governments act with each other. These things are falling by the wayside," Holder said.
"It is not a good thing that a lot of this pressure is being placed on these systems, and they are standing in place," he said. "It is not necessary in a normal situation, that pressure should not be applied... to the institutions in the way that they have been."
