Melania Trump: "Heartened" To See Children Speaking Out On Gun Violence

First lady Melania Trump told a gathering of governor's spouses at the White House on Monday that she is "heartened" to see children speaking out about gun violence in the wake of the school shooting in Parkland, Florida.

I have been heartened to see children across this country using their voices to speak out and try to create change," she said. "They are our future, and they deserve a voice."

"In my year as first lady, I have also learned that often times after a tragedy, you see the strength and resilience of the human spirit," Melania Trump said at the same event.
