President Trump signs a proclamation at the White House to honor Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day on Monday.
President Trump honors Isaac Newton Farris Jr., a nephew of Dr. King, and "the memory of that great American hero."
"Through his bravery and sacrifice, Dr. King opened the eyes and lifted the conscience of our nation," the president said. "No matter what the color of our skin, or the place of our birth, we are all created equal by God."
The president's remarks were followed by statements from HHS Secretary Ben Carson and Farris.
