Trump: ABC Should Have Fired Brian Ross For False Flynn Story, I Should Sue

|

At a campaign-style rally in Pensacola Friday night, President Trump called out ABC News for running a false report that then-campaign adviser Ret. Gen. Michael Flynn reached out to Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak during the campaign. Flynn actually spoke to the Russian diplomat after the election, during the transition. ABC News suspended investigative reporter Brian Ross after his report turned out to be untrue.

"By the way, did you see all the corrections the media has been making?" Trump said the crowd. "They’re saying sorry – they’ve been doing that all year. They never apologize. Maybe that comes with being the president; I don’t know. They’ve been apologizing left and right. They took this fraudster from ABC – they suspended him for a month. They should have fired him for what he wrote."

"He drove the stock market down 350 points in minutes which by the way told you they really like me; right? When you think of it. And you know what he cost people? And I said to everybody, get yourself a lawyer and sue ABC news. Sue them," Trump said about a lawsuit.

Trump also noted CNN "apologized" after the news organization ran an erroneous story that Donald Trump Jr. got WikiLeaks information before it was leaked on the internet. The campaign actually used the information after it was put on the web for all to see.

PRESIDENT DONALD TRUMP: So, tonight we’re going to speak straight to the American people and cut right through the fake news media right here. Right through them. We’re going to speak the plain truth and really the truth that you just want to hear – you have to hear. They don’t want to hear.

And by the way, did you see all the corrections the media has been making. They’re saying sorry – they’ve been doing that all year. They never apologize. Maybe that comes with being the president; I don’t know. They’ve been apologizing left and right. They took this fraudster from ABC – they suspended him for a month. They should have fired him for what he wrote. He drove the stock market down 350 points in minutes which by the way told you they really like me; right? When you think of it.

And you know what he cost people? And I said to everybody, get yourself a lawyer and sue ABC news. Sue them. And then CNN apologized just a little while ago. They apologized – oh, thank you, CNN. Thank you so much. You should’ve been apologizing for the last two years. True. True.
