Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell says he believes the women accusing candidate Roy Moore of sexual contact with a minor, and calls on Moore to step down from the race for Senate in Alabama:
REPORTER: Is the burden [of proof] on Moore to prove these [allegations] false, versus someone to prove these are true in this situation? Or do you believe these allegations to be true?
SEN. MITCH MCCONNELL: I believe the women, yes...
REPORTER: Are you calling for him to step down from the Senate race?
MCCONNELL: I did, I think he should step aside.
REPORTER: Are you encouraging a write-in campaign with Sen. Strange?
MCCONNELL: That is an option. We're looking at whether or not there is someone who could mount a write-in campaign successfully.
