Rep. Al Green: "A President Need Not Be Convicted Of A Criminal Offense To Be Impeached"

Rep. Al Green threatened Wednesday night to force a vote on the House floor on the impeachment of President Trump, while condemning the president's "attacks" on NFL players who kneeled during the playing of the national anthem.

He explained: "I rise tonight to make one point...a president need not be convicted of a criminal offense to be impeached."

"I rise to say to the world that this is not what America is all about," Green said about Trump's attacks on the athletes. "I will stand here in the well of the Congress, and I will call for the impeachment of the president of the United States of America."
