Deputy White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders blasts members of the media, espeically CNN, for not covering stories Americans care about, and she gets a lively challenge.
"I think they deserve something better from our news media," she said about the American people before launching an earnest rant.
"I hope that outlets that have continued to use unnamed sources, somtimes stories with no sources at all. We've been going on this Russia-Trump hoax for the better part of a year now, with no evidence of anything," she continued.
"Things like the succcess at the VA barely gets covered," she commented about the media in general.
"News outlets get to go on day after day, and cite unnamed sources, used stories without sources. You mentioned the Scaramucci story, where reporters had to resign!" she concluded.
At this point, one White House reporter (Brian Karem of the Sentinel newspapers ) spoke up: "Come on! You're inflaming everybody right here, right now with the words you used. This administration has done that as well. Why in the name of heaven? Any one of us is replaceable, and any one of us, if we don't get it right, the audience has the opportunity to change the channel or not read us."
"You have been elected to serve for four years at least," he added emphatically. "There's no option other than that. We're here to ask you questions. You're here to provide the answers, and what you just did it inflammatory to the people all over the country who say, once again: 'The president is right and everybody else out here is fake media. And everybody in this room is only trying to do their job."
"I disagree with that completely," Huckabee Sanders responded. "And I think it is outrageous for you to accuse me of inflaming a story, when I was simply trying to respond to his question."
