Sean Spicer Confirms: 'Covfefe' Is An Inside Joke, Not A Typo

The Beltway media embarked Wednesday on a quest to discover the meaning of 'covfefe,' a new word coined by President Trump seemingly by accident in a tweet early Wednesday morning. Is it simply nonsense, a misspelling of 'coverage,' or some sort of inside joke?

The president deleted the original tweet, as if it were a typo, Wednesday morning and followed up with a question, and an invitation: "Who can figure out the true meaning of 'covfefe' ??? Enjoy!"

At Wednesday afternoon's WH press conference with Sean Spicer, the press secretary seemed to confirm that it was not a typo but an inside joke that "a small group of people" understand. The WH media erupted into shouts and groans of confusion when Spicer confirmed this. "What does this mean? What is it? What is covfefe? Oh my gosh," CNN analyst April Ryan can be heard saying.
