Rand Paul: Paul Ryan Has Fed Trump "A Bill Of Goods" On Health-Care Reform

Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., says Republicans are in a pre-negotiating phase when it comes to health care. Paul says the bill is "Obamacare lite", and he calls for 'buying groups' for coverage.

SEN. RAND ELISE JORDAN, MSNBC POLITICAL ANALYST: Senator Paul, Elise Jordan here. I am curious; you are calling it Obamacare Lite and have outlined the problems with the bill. And I think that those are a lot of problems that the grassroots constituency Republican voters who propelled Donald Trump into office see.

How, what do you make of Donald Trump putting his support behind this bill that is Obamacare Light?

PAUL: You know, I think that he's been told things by House leadership that frankly just are not accurate. He's been told this is only vehicle, Paul Ryan's been saying it for weeks, it's a binary choice. You either take it; it's my way or the highway. I think he's been fed a bill of goods on this thing. And I do believe that there is something that can pass that actually would bring down insurance costs. But this bill doesn't do it.

I've fought against Obamacare for six years. I'm a physician. I want to repeal it. But I don't want to repeal it and replace it with something that's just as bad or doesn't work.
