At a joint press conference with Angela Merkel at the White House on Friday, President Trump alluded to the time WikiLeaks revealed President Obama's history of "tapping & hacking his friends and rivals," including Chancellor Merkel: quipping: "We have something in common."
Asked by a German reporter if he had any regret about accusing President Obama of wiretapping Trump Tower, Trump said he did not.
"When it comes to wiretapping from this past administration," Trump said pointing to Merkel. "At least we have something in common perhaps."
TRUMP: Probably wouldn't be here right now, but very seldom. We have a tremendous group of people that listen and I can get around the media when the media doesn't tell the truth, so I like that.
As far as wiretapping, I guess by this past administration, at least we have something in common, perhaps.
