Rick Tyler: "We Won't Lose The Republic" If Clinton Wins; Trump "Will Cause More Long-Term Damage" Representing GOP

|

Former Cruz spokesman Rick Tyler said he wanted to support Donald Trump but just couldn't bring himself to do it. Tyler said Trump is "doing his own voter suppression" if he continues to question the integrity of the election and make people believe he doesn't think he will win.

Tyler said he does not think the republic will be lost if Trump loses to Clinton. Tyler believes Trump representing the Republican party "will cause more long-term damage," and it can be seen with the party splitting now.

"I don't think we lose the republic," Tyler said of a Trump electoral loss. "You know, I think the danger of having Donald Trump represent the Republican party as its titular head will cause more long-term damage. The party is splitting now and the question is is it going to survive after this election?"

Tyler also had a message for Sean Hannity: If Donald Trump thought he would win the election then he would not be making overtures about voter fraud.

"One thing I would say to Sean Hannity is if Donald Trump does indeed think he's going to lose the election, because his pollster would be telling him every day, then he would never say anything to undermine the integrity of the election," Tyler addressed the FOX News Channel host.

From Friday's broadcast of MSNBC's Morning Joe:

SCARBOROUGH: I'm just saying. What do you say to Sean Hannity that says that because you don't support Donald Trump, or I don't support Donald Trump, and we haven't endorsed him, that we are supporting partial birth abortions?

RICK TYLER: I think it's the tyranny of the urgent, of the immediate. It's what you said. It's that if Donald Trump doesn't lose, we'll lose the republic. We'll lose the Supreme Court, even though we have a Senate, even though Ted Cruz is on the Judiciary Committee, even though we're supposed to give advise and consent.

So we won't lose the republic... I don't think we lose the republic. You know, I think the danger of having Donald Trump represent the Republican party as its titular head will cause more long-term damage. The party is splitting now and the question is is it going to survive after this election?

...

RICK TYLER: One thing I would say to Sean Hannity is if Donald Trump does indeed think he's going to lose the election, because his pollster would be telling him every day, then he would never say anything to undermine the integrity of the election. Because what will happen is if people don't believe Donald Trump is going to win and he apparently doesn't believe he's going to win, people just won't show up. And those are the same people that Marco Rubio is depending on, that [Pat] Toomey is depending on and all these House races. We will lose House races already that are close because of what Donald Trump said. He's doing his own voter suppression.
