As controversy continues to follow Donald Trump, many have questioned whether he has the temperament and character to be president, or if he simply has a more bombastic stage persona. Judy Woodruff speaks with Gen. Michael Hayden, the former NSA and CIA director who opposes Trump’s candidacy, and Kris Kobach, Kansas secretary of state who is one of Trump’s supporters.
Judy Woodruff asks Hayden: "What if there is a different Donald Trump who is more reasoned, more rational in private?"
MICHAEL HAYDEN: So why isn't he running? That is a little bit like pay not attention to the man in front of the screen!
We have campaigns so that the electorate can get to know the candidate and make an intelligent choice. So if the candidate is hiding his true persona, it seems to defeat the whole purpose of electoral campaigns.
