NBCer vs. Christie: Do You Think Prosecuting Hillary Is Unifying Country? Christie: "Yes, And I Think You Do Too"

|

Following his address Tuesday night where he 'prosecuted' Hillary Clinton on stage at the RNC, Gov. Chris Christie was quizzed by NBC's Kelly O'Donnell if an "imperfect messenger" such as himself should be indicting others, referring to the "bridge events."

"You incited this crowd to get on their feet, to talk about her, to say guilty over and over again. Do you think that is unifying the party in a way that's good for the country?" O'Donnell inquired.

"Yes, yes I do. And I think you do, too," Christie responded.

Transcript of exchange:

KELLY O'DONNELL, MSNBC: Are you imperfect given the fact of the bridge events were part of why you may not have gotten that position as the running mate?

GOV. CHRIS CHRISTIE: No. First off, I don't think you have any basis to know that, Kelly. Secondly, do we have Hillary Clinton calling me imperfect? I mean you want to talk about the pot calling the kettle black. I'll put up my record against Hillary Clinton on ethics, on accomplishment, on achievements, on honesty, any day in the week and I would just give the Secretary a warning, this is not a fight she wants to pick.

O'DONNELL: You incited this crowd to get on their feet, to talk about her, to say guilty over and over again. Do you think that is unifying the party in a way that's good for the country?

CHRISTIE: Yes, yes I do. And I think you do, too.
