Shooting in Downtown Dallas began near the end of a protest over the fatal police shootings of two men in Louisiana and Minnesota. Five police officers were killed, and six other officers and one civilian were injured. CBS's Manuel Bujorquez reports.
Dallas Police Chief David Brown gave an incredible statement while the fourth suspect was still at large:
Middle of the night: "Dallas police say they are negotiating with a gunman who claims he has planted bombs in downtown Dallas. Dallas Police Chief David Brown says there may be other suspects at large after deadly ambush that killed four officers and wounded seven."
Cell phone video offers a glimpse and a sound of the firefight that occured in Dallas after snipers opened fire on what was a peaceful protest. The video aired on Dallas CBS affiliate KTVT.
