Trump appeared on NBC's Today Show Tuesday morning and expressed his anger that he is having a more difficult time with some Republicans than the Democratic party.
"I have a lot of cash, I may do it in the general election, but it would be nice to have some help from the party," Trump said.
"I understand money better than anybody," Trump told Today co-host Savannah Guthrie. "I understand it far better than Hillary and I'm way up on the economy when it comes to questions on the economy."
"I'm having more difficulty frankly with some of the people in the party than I am with the Democrats. They don't want to come on. They will probably eventually come on," Trump complained.
Trump said he could do without their support if they don't "eventually come on" to Team Trump.
"Honestly if they don't it's just fine," Trump said. "I can win it either way. I may be better off winning it the opposite way than the traditional way."
Trump threatened to "go a different route" if he doesn't receive great support from the party.
"He said he'll support me," Trump said of House Speaker Paul Ryan. "Mitch McConnell said he supported me. With that, I'd like to see great support. If I don't have great support, I'll go a different route."
