Weekly Standard editor Bill Kristol reacts to Speaker of the House Paul Ryan's positive comments after meeting with presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump. RNC chairman Reince Priebus called the meeting a "positive step toward party unity."
"We discussed core principles that tie us together," Ryan said, adding it was an "encouraging meeting."
"They are just jumping on the train without any assurance from anything on Trump," Kristol said of the party.
"What has offended you the most?" an MSNBC anchor asked Kristol.
"It is depressing as a conservative to see Donald Trump make this triumphant procession through Washington with the Republican leadership of the Republican National Committee and the House and Senate basically capitulating to him," Kristol said Thursday afternoon on MSNBC.
"Unification means capitulation," he added.
