Fox News host Sean Hannity reacted negatively to the drastic change in Sen. Marco Rubio's personality over the past few days, saying that "that's not Marco."
"To me, it seems like the establishment is putting all this in his head," Hannity said. "He’s regurgitating it and being somebody that he’s not."
"Maybe it’s my conspiratorial mind," he explained. "But I think this is orchestrated, well-funded and well organized."
SEAN HANNITY: So are Rubio's attacks turning into a suicide mission, and could it actually ruin his carrier and destroy or hurt the Republican Party?
So I watched Marco in two interviews last night, and I want to be very clear here for the record. I've always liked him. It is very hard not to like Marco Rubio. But I get the sense that he couldn't get out the word con artist, fraud, KKK, Trump University over and over again, he couldn't do it enough. Probably a preview of [Thursday's] debate. Here's my question. Do you agree with me that probably this is not the Marco we've known, and that he is probably being influenced and he is the hired gun now to take out the insurgency.
"Maybe it’s my conspiratorial mind," Hannity said later in the interview (full video below via Fox News). "I think this is orchestrated, well-funded and well organized."
"That’s not Marco," he said. "To me, it seems like the establishment is putting all this in his head. He’s regurgitating it and being somebody that he’s not."
"I’m speaking objectively here. I’m not taking sides in this," Hannity explained. "But Donald Trump showed a side of him that was very different last night. You could even use the word 'presidential' in the way he approached. He was magnanimous when it comes to Ted Cruz and his victories, how tough it is to run for president, you know, and what I’m watching here is the kitchen sink, scorched earth, MMA bare-knuckle brawl, thorough nuclear attacks."
In the same segment, Pat Buchanan said that Marco Rubio has volunteered to be the GOP's "instrument of destruction" in taking on insurgent front-runner Donald Trump.
