Donald Trump ripped Ted Cruz at Saturday night's debate after the Texas Senator warned Trump would enact liberal policies as president.
"I like Donald. He is an amazing entertainer," Cruz began.
"Thank you very much, I appreciate it," a grateful Trump said.
"For most of his life, his policies have been very, very liberal," Cruz said. "For most of his life he has described himself as very pro-choice, and a a supporter of partial birth abortion. Right now, today, as a candidate, he supports federal taxpayer funding for Planned Parenthood. I disagree with him on that."
Trump stopped Cruz right there and called him a liar and a nasty person. Trump went on to list a litany of items he accuses Cruz of lying about, including the infamous Ben Carson drop-out rumor that was floated the night of the Iowa caucus.
"You the single biggest liar," Trump began his tirade. "You are probably worse than Jeb Bush. You are the single biggest liar. This guy lied -- let me just tell you. This guy lied about Ben Carson when he took votes away from Ben Carson in Iowa. And he just continues. And today, we had robocalls saying, "Donald Trump is not going to win in South Carolina," where I'm leading by a lot. I'm not going to win. Vote for Ted Cruz. This is the same thing he did to Ben Carson. This guy will say anything. Nasty guy. Now I know why he doesn't have one endorsement from any of his colleagues."
Cruz continued to accuse Trump of supporting Planned Parenthood. Trump said while he does approve of the "wonderful things" they provide in regards to women's health, he does not support their abortion services.
Cruz said Trump would appoint liberals to the Supreme Court and warned the Second Amendment would go away under a Trump presidency.
"The reason, principal matters, sadly, was illustrated by the first questions today. The next president is going to appoint one, two, three, four Supreme Court justices," Cruz explained.
"If Donald Trump is president, he will appoint liberals," Cruz warned. "If Donald Trump is president you Second Amendment will go away. You know how I know that."
"Ted Cruz with your brother (pointing toward Jeb) wanted John Roberts to be on the United States Supreme Court. They both pushed him. He twice approved Obamacare," Trump responded.
"You gave us John Roberts," Trump said.
"I did not nominated him. I would not have nominated him," Cruz responded.
