On Live With Kelly & Michael this morning, hosted by Kelly Ripa and former New York Giants defensive end Michael Strahan, Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump announced he would consider running third party, which goes against his RNC pledge to run only as a Republican.
"I don't want to do that," Trump said about running as a third-party candidate. "I'm leading in the polls, not by a little bit, but by 20 and 21 points."
"I'm leading in Iowa, New Hampshire, South Carolina and Nevada, Texas," Trump said. "I'm leading in Florida against two people, one was a governor and one was a Senator. I'm leading every single poll. And nationwide, I'm leading in every one of them. So obviously, I'm very happy where I am."
"The people, the Republican party has been -- the people have been phenomenal, the party I'll let you know about that. And if I don't get treated fairly, I would consider that. In fact they did a poll... where 68% of the people that were Republicans would follow Trump if I went independent," Trump touted.
"I don't want to do that. When you're leading by 20 or 21 points, you don't do that. A lot of people that were very critical people like Jeb Bush are down, got nothing going. And a lot of the others who were critical, they're doing poorly. They're doing very, very poorly in the polls," Trump said.
