Carly Fiorina reacts to media coverage of a man telling Hillary Clinton he would like to "strangle" the Republican presidential candidate. The man, a former employee of Hewlett-Packard that was laid off under Fiorina's watch, got a laugh from Clinton, who did not dismiss the remark, but did not elicit much attention in the media.
"First, I can understand why someone who is laid off might feel badly about it," Fiorina said on Wednesday's broadcast of FOX News' The O'Reilly Factor. "It was a very tough time. I think he has his facts wrong about the two corporate jets, but I understand that he might be frustrated by that. It was a very tough time and we had to make some tough calls to save 80,000 jobs."
"You know, I don't take umbrage with him or I don't take umbrage with Mrs. Clinton," Fiorina said. "I do take umbrage with the clear double standard that exists in the media. If this happened with the conservative candidate the liberal media would be all over and asking to apologize and all the rest of it."
