Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) has fast-tracked a bill that would pass a budget which blocks federal funding for Planned Parenthood for one year while "investigations" are underway.
The Democratic Party "has crowed for months about its fillibuster summer strategy of blocking every last funding bill in the hopes of taking Americans to the brink," said McConnell. "They've now succeeded in taking us there."
Similar legislation passed the House last week 241-187. The "fast track," means that the Senate will vote on the bill passed by the House without tearing it up in committee first.
