Jorge Ramos vs. Bill Maher on Saying "Illegals" To Describe Immigrants: "Why Is That A Bad Word?"

On Friday's edition of HBO's Real Time, guest Jorge Ramos took offense to host Bill Maher using the term "illegals" to describe illegal, undocumented immigrants living in the United States. Ramos also said there's another word for "anchor babies," it's American citizens.

Ramos appeared on the HBO show to discuss his altercation with presidential candidate Donald Trump at a press conference a few weeks ago.

BILL MAHER, HOST: You also pointed out that most illegals come here by plane --

JORGE RAMOS: We don't call them illegals. They're --

MAHER: Sorry, transgendered.

RAMOS: No human being is illegal. No human being is illegal.

MAHER: I'm always saying the wrong thing!

RAMOS: Words matter. Very important.

MAHER: Alright, okay.

RAMOS: Words matter.

MAHER: Well, I mean, some people are illegal.

RAMOS: Well, no --

MAHER: Why is that a bad word?

RAMOS: Well, because I think it's a double standard. You don't call illegal the companies, thousands of companies who hire them, you don't call them illegals.

MAHER: Maybe we should.
