Trump to Bush: This Is A Country Where We Speak English, Not Spanish

DONALD TRUMP: Jeb said that they come into our country as an act of love. With all of the problems that we have -- in so many instances we have wonderful people coming in. This is not an act of love. He's weak on immigration. By the way, in favor of Common Core, which is also a disaster, he's weak on immigration He doesn't get my vote...

DANA BASH, CNN: Okay. On that note, you have criticized Governor Bush for speaking Spanish on the campaign trail. You said, quote, 'He should really set an example by speaking English in the United States.' What's wrong with speaking Spanish?

TRUMP: Well, I think it's wonderful and all. But I did it a little bit half-heartedly, but I do mean it to a large extent. We have a country where to assimilate, you have to speak English. And I think that where he was and the way it came out didn't sound right to me.

We have to have assimilation to have a country. We have to have assimilation. I'm not the first one to say this, Dana. We have had many people over the years for many, many years saying the same thing. This is a country where we speak English, not Spanish.
