Bill Maher talks about Donald Trump's presidential candidacy on Friday's broadcast of his HBO show Real Time.
BILL MAHER: Before we run out of time, [I want to] talk about Donald Trump in Iowa. Because I think this is a giant story. I didn't see anybody talking about it today -- that Donald Trump is ahead in Iowa -- because this is the one place people said Donald Trump was not going to do well because he's a New Yorker.
Remember Giuliani? Wouldn't even participate in Iowa. I've had so many people sitting on this show that Chris Christie, even when he was riding high, not going to play in Iowa. They're too evangelical. He's too New Yawk.
This says so much about the electorate. Even the evangelicals want to be called on their shit. They are desperate to have somebody lead them. Somebody to say, 'You know what, I just don't bend to your bullshit.' And Donald Trump, I've got to say, I don't agree with him on a lot but I kind of get him. We've been doing the same thing.
FMR. GOV. JENNIFER GRANHOLM (D-MI): The same politically incorrect stuff, right?
