Jerry Seinfeld explained why he thinks political correctness has gone too far. Seth Meyers says that now there are more people than ever who will let you know "if you went over the line" in comedy.
JERRY SEINFELD: They keep moving the line in for no reason. I do this joke about the way people need to justify their cell phone. I need to have it with me, because people are so important. They don't seem very important the way you scroll through them like a gay French king.
Well, I did this line recently in front of an audience, and you can. Comedy is where you can kind of feel an opinion. They thought, 'what do you mean gay? What are you talking about gay? What are you doing? What do you mean?'
And I thought, are you kidding me? We can't even?
I could imagine a time when people would say that is offensive to suggest that a gay person moves their hands in a flourishing motion and you now need to apologize.
This is a creepy PC thing out there that really bothers me.
