On Friday's Morning Joe, host Joe Scarborough said while Tim Russert also worked for Democratic politicians, he was not an "enforcer" for them like This Week host George Stephanopoulos. Scarborough says the recent controversy swirling around Stephanopoulos' donations to the Clinton Foundation brings up the question: why did he get the job in the first place?
"I'm sorry, there's a much bigger question to ask," Scarborough said on MSNBC this morning. "Tim Russert worked for a Senator and a Governor. Tim Russert wasn't the enforcer for a president and a presidential campaign. I think the bigger question is why did George Stephanopoulos get the job in the first place? That's what conservatives have been asking all of these years and you're right, he played exactly into their worst suspicions."
