Former President Bill Clinton appeared on the Tuesday broadcast of Ellen DeGeneres' syndicated talk show and talked about how the characters in his favorite political shows get away with murder.
"I can't imagine that either a president, [House of Cards' Kevin] Spacey, or the president's chief of staff on Scandal could really get away with murder," Clinton said.
"I wish I'd have known about that in office," Clinton said. "You know, think of all the opportunities I missed."
ELLEN DEGENERES, ELLEN SHOW: You do so much. It's amazing when I think about how busy you are and still you have time, I understand, to watch TV, which is amazing to me.
FMR. PRESIDENT BILL CLINTON: You know, I had a wife with a traveling job for a while, so I was home alone a lot.
DEGENERES: So are you watching Scandal?
CLINTON: I do watch that. I love anything Shonda Rhimes does.
DEGENERES: Isn't she amazing?
CLINTON: And I still watch Grey's Anatomy. I'm a devoted Grey's Anatomy's fan. And I like How to Get Away With Murder.
I like Scandal. I like House of Cards. Kevin Spacey is a close friend of mine. And I really like Kerry Washington and her husband, Nnamdi Asomugha, is a good, close friend of ours and friend of the foundation and a remarkable human being.
The thing about Scandal and House of Cards that makes it fun to watch is that I can't imagine that either a president, Spacey, or the president's chief of staff on Scandal could really get away with murder. I wish I'd have known about that in office. You know, think of all the opportunities I missed. So little time, so many people who had it coming. Brazen.
