Krugman: "We Actually Don't Have A Problem With Government Debt, Not Yet"

"I don't think it's an addiction," Krugman said about David Stockman's comment that we've become addicted to debt. "The financial sector has a lot of debt, but I think we need to be a little careful because a lot of that is just complexity -- multiple layers so money gets lent several times."

"We actually don't have a problem with government debt, not yet," Kurgman said. But, you know, people are worried about the rise. And of course, you can throw around big numbers. The fact of the matter is the U.S. is a $16 trillion a year economy and the numbers are not that overwhelming as they sound if you just give the raw numbers."
