BILL KRISTOL: They have honest differences on some policies and I respect those differences. And it's amazing, we're having this discussion here and everyone is taking it for granted, the president of the United States, reelected, in his second term, no electoral pressure is on him now and his main preoccupation is what? Causing trivial splits, incidentally, among House Republicans. It's fun for us to talk about, is it going to matter two years from now? No, of course not. That's what the president of the United States thinks his job is, not to actually be serious about entitlement reform?
CHARLES LANE: You may not like that, but that's what's happening.
KRISTOL: But it's pathetic.
