Obama Proposes $1.5 Trillion In New Taxes: It's About Fairness
"It is our responsibility to put country before party. It is our responsibility to do what is right the future. That is what this debate is about and it is not about numbers on a ledger or figures on a spreadsheet. It is about the economic future of this country. It's about whether we will do what it takes to create jobs, growth and opportunity while facing up to the legacy of debt that threatens everything we've built over generations. And it's also about fairness. It is about whether we are in fact in this together. And we're looking out for one another. We know what is right. It is time to do what is right," President Obama said on Monday.
